Volunteer
As an all-volunteer organization caring for more than 200 animals, we need all help we can get! HHFS hosts several volunteer days a year from spring to early fall. Winter events are weather-dependent.

A few of the projects we need help with at the farm:
- • Fence Building & Repair
- • Field Cleanup
- • Cleanup In & Around the barn
- • Breakup and leveling of dirt
- • Grooming, animal care
- • General repair work
- • Veterinary care
- • Farrier
- • Pressure washing the barn and metal fence getting them ready for paint
- • Painting and weather-proofing
- • Weeding
What to bring (bring what you have):
- • Volunteer Waiver
- • Sunscreen (there’s not a lot of shade)
- • Water
- • Close-toed shoes or boots (no flip flops or sandals)
- • Work Gloves
- • Safety Glasses
- • Shovels
- • Pickaxe
- • Weed Whacker (with extra gas) ** Could use a few of these
- • Hammer & Nails
- • Tamping / Digging Bar
- • Bow/Garden Rake
- • Tamper
- • Hand Saw
- • Pressure Washer
- • Wheelbarrows
- • Wire cutters
- • Medium to large sized Pliers
